Munster Senior One Championships
Well done to Trudy Kennedy, Ballymacarbry Badminton Club, who reached
the final of the Munster Senior 1 Ladies Doubles Championships held
in Killarney on Sunday 7th February. Trudy’s partner was Gillian
Holmes.
Munster Junior Championships
Congratulations to Nicola and Tanya Morrissey (Lismore) who claimed the
Munster Junior Ladies Doubles Championships in Killarney on Sunday.
They beat Sinead Carson and Karen Smith from Tipperary. Tanya was also
runner up in the Junior Singles final. She was beaten by Aisling Ryan
in a very close final. Well done also to Michael Plos and Lucia Ondrejova
from Lady Lane Badminton Club who beat Kevin Fahy (also Lady Lane)
and Nicola Morrissey in the Junior Mixed Doubles final. Well done also
to Colin Coleman and Nora O’Sullivan (Lismore) who won the Mixed
Doubles Plate title.
Kiersey Cup
Margaret Morrissey and Jason Tobin were runners up in Section B of the
Kiersey Cup in Kilmacthomas on Sunday 31st January. The incorrect names
were printed in last week’s notes.
Class 4
The Waterford County Class 4 team will play in the All-Ireland Class
4 qualifiers on Sunday 14th February in University of Limerick. Best
of luck to the team and manager Michael McGrath.
County Mixed Doubles Championships
The County Mixed Doubles Championships will take place in Cappoquin on
Wednesday 10th February starting at 7.00 pm. Good luck to all players
taking part.
County Singles Championships
The County Singles Championships will take place in Ferrybank on Thursday
25th February. Entries to Trudy Kennedy or Katherine O’Sullivan
by Friday 19th February.
